LPI promotes Linux certification within Spanish public schools
(Sacramento, CA, USA and Madrid, Spain: March 10, 2010) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, announced that its affiliate organization LPI-Spain had partnered with Proyecto Universidad Empresa (PUE) to promote LPI certification and training within Spain's public schools. PUE is Spain's leading agency in the development of IT training and certification and provides academic programs for such major IT organizations as Microsoft, Cisco and Sun.
Vocational Education in the Netherlands adopts LPI Certification
(Sacramento, CA, USA: February 25, 2010) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, announced that its partner organization LPI-Netherlands has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ECABO, Netherlands's Center of Expertise on Vocational Education, Training and Labor Market to include LPI certifications in their curriculum. ECABO works for the entire range of vocational training in the Netherlands representing lower and senior secondary vocational education and higher vocational education. For example ECABO supports nearly 90,000 students in the senior secondary vocational education sector alone.
LPI at CeBIT 2010, Hanover, Germany
(Kassel, Germany: February 11, 2010) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, announced that its affiliate, LPI Central Europe will host a full program of activities at CeBIT 2010 in Hanover, Germany. Open Source will be a top theme at this years edition of one of the world's leading trade fairs for the ICT industry.
Novell and LPI Partner on Linux Training and Certification
(WALTHAM, Mass. and SACRAMENTO, Calif. – February 9, 2010) Novell Inc. and The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) today announced an international partnership to standardize their entry-level Linux certification programs on LPIC-1. Under this program, Linux professionals who have earned their LPIC-1 status will also satisfy the requirements for the Novell® Certified Linux Administrator (CLA) certification. In addition, Novell Training Services has formally agreed to include required LPIC-1 learning objectives in its CLA course training material.
Call For Community Input: LPI "Job Task Analysis"
(Toronto, Canada: February 4, 2010) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) issued a call for volunteers to assist in the development of its world leading Linux certification program. Volunteers are sought for participation in a Job Task Analysis (JTA) survey for the organization's new specialty exam LPI-304 (High Availability and Virtualization).

2009 marked the 10th Anniversary of LPI. In addition, IBM developerWorks celebrated their own 10th Anniversary. The developerWorks crew marked their anniversary by creating a webpage called: "10 important Linux developments everyone should know about: Celebrating 10 years of Linux accomplishments"

LPI Expands Training Partner Program to include 44 nations
(Sacramento, USA: December 10, 2009) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, announced that it had expanded its training partner program to include 44 nations--up from 33 a year ago. In addition the organization has increased the number of LPI-Approved Training Partners (LPI-ATP) and LPI-Approved Academic Partners (LPI-AAP) to a total of 242 partners -- up 10% from this time last year.
LPI-Brazil and 4Linux celebrate 7 years of LPI exams
(Sacramento, CA, USA: December 3, 2009) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, announced a special exam lab on December 5, 2009 in Sao Paulo, Brazil at the Congresso Internacional de Software Livre. The exam lab is expected to attract over 130 people and will include a presentation by long time LPI supporter and President of Linux International, Jon "maddog" Hall.

LPI Announces New Affiliate in Turkey

LPI-Turkey will be managed by Endersys Consultancy and Software Ltd. Endersys was founded in 2006 and provides Linux and Open Source solutions, services and IT consulting in Turkey.
