Learning Materials for LPI Open Source Essentials

Toronto, 08-19-2024 – Linux Professional Institute announced today that Learning Materials are available in English for its recently released Open Source Essentials Certificate. Translations into other languages will follow.

LPI’s Essentials track is aimed at the general public, providing recommended skills for people in a wide range of professions. Open Source Essentials covers the knowledge that allows developers, managers, lawyers, and other professionals to communicate, share a common terminology, and collaborate successfully. This program also allows individuals to understand the concepts behind open source and engage with the open source community.

“The Learning Materials were written by a number of experts in the creation and curation of free and open source software. They are useful for people with or without technical background, and will equip them not only to prepare for the exam but to handle open source software and content properly, in accordance with legal contracts and community norms,” says Dr. Markus Wirtz, Senior Project Manager at LPI.
