Linux Professional Institute 2024 Board Election Results
Linux Professional Institute (LPI) announces the results of the 2024 Board of Directors elections. Jon “maddog” Hall was the presiding Board Chair and the Returning Officer.
LPI met quorum as required by the Bylaws and the government of Canada. There were 70 ballots and abstentions in the voting. Quorum required at least 28.
The two Resolutions passed:
- Approval of the 2023 Minutes – 48 yes, 22 abstentions, zero votes no
- Approval of Kwart & Company as auditors for 2024 – 47 yes, 22 abstentions, 1 vote no
The five board member slots were filled:
- Dorothy Gordon
- Jill Ratkevic
- Klaus Knopper
- Uira Ribeiro
- Brian Clemens
This is the new Board of Directores in alphabetical order:
- Brian Clemens – Japan (Board Vice-Chair)

- Klaus Knopper – Germany (current)

- Uirá Ribeiro – Brazil (Board Chair, current)
A Preferential method of voting and deciding the Board Members was used.
