In December Linux Professional Institute (LPI), together with the main IT vendors in Spain, signed an agreement with Fundación Estatal (Fundae), the public national foundation for the support of IT vocational training. Fundae helps IT staff respond to new needs arising from the process of technological, digital, and productive change. It has developed a space where IT professionals can find free training courses, and training resources in digital literacy, offered by various companies and organizations.
«Fundae is aware of the usefulness of making these courses available to all workers, as this would improve their employability. It is predicted that 3.2 million jobs will be created by 2030 through digitisation,» Fundae explains on their website.
«We are delighted to support Fundae,» says Henry Chalup, LPI’s representative in Spain. «It is the mission of Linux Professional Institute to promote the use of open source by elevating the people who work with it.» The agreement now signed gives Spanish IT professionals free access to a range of courses and learning materials, which will help them advance their careers.
