Toronto, 08-23-2024 – For uCertify, a major online provider of computer training, partnership with the Linux Professional Institute is a strategic way to grow and to reach new markets. They have recently joined LPI as both a Solution Provider and a Channel Partner.
Cofounder and CEO Manish Gupta explained to me that open source training is a big part of uCertify. Currently, uCertify offers courses directed toward the Linux Essentials certificate and the LPIC-1 certification.
uCertify is a big force in computer training, working with more than 1,000 customers and serving 3 million students in more than 100 countries worldwide. They see their partnership with LPI as more than a way to get discounts and other benefits; Gupta says that they can accomplish a lot together because LPI’s values are aligned with uCertify. Gupta is particularly impressed that LPI helps people make a transition from a different career into computer science and IT.
The main selling points of uCertify are an integrated learning experience and planning tools for educators and corporate managers.
A typical course-taker starts with a pre-assessment that determines where they can use the most help and sets up a personalized curriculum. Training materials, labs, and tests work together to take them through training. People can learn, say, GNU/Linux commands without having to struggle to set up a personal Linux system; instead, they can use a virtual machine in uCertify’s cloud.
uCertify has a strong B-to-B platform for universities and companies. Managers can sign up teams and monitor the progress of each employee. Employers can also customize courses by choosing the modules they need and (if publishers allow it) even submitting proposals for changes in content.
Linux is foundational knowledge that a coder or administrator must have. LPI is a good company. Their heart is in the right place.—Manish Gupta, Cofounder and CEO, uCertify
We are thrilled to partner with uCertify to expand access to Linux training globally. This collaboration will empower more individuals and organizations to make use of open source technologies.».—Eduardo S. Lima, Global Channel Partner Director at the Linux Professional Institute
