I had the privilege of representing the African region during the «HPC Around the World» session. My presentation focused on how free and open source software (FOSS) is advancing digital skills in our communities. The presentation was an incredible opportunity to spotlight regional initiatives, share successes, and discuss the transformative role FOSS plays in empowering individuals to thrive in today’s technological world. Hearing the interest and questions from attendees reaffirmed the importance of collaboration and inclusivity. It’s clear that initiatives like ours are part of a global movement to use open source for positive change.
