Linux Professional Institute Elects New Members to Board of Directors

The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the leading vendor-independent Linux certification organization, today announced the addition of three members to their board of directors. The new directors, Jon “maddog” Hall, Evan Leibovitch, and C. Scudder Mead are long-term supporters of the Linux Professional Institute community. They join the existing board members consisting of Gen Narui, Torsten Scheck, Christopher “Duffy” Fron, and James Lacey.

“Given that we had vacancies on our Board of Directors earlier this year, we have focused our efforts on filling the remaining seats. After reaching out to all of LPI’s founding members, we are pleased to announce that three long-term members of LPI have been elected to Director positions,” said LPI CEO, Jim Lacey.

Jon “maddog” Hall, a thought-leader in the Linux community, was unanimously elected to the role of Chairman of the Board. Mr. Hall, a professional consultant, continues to travel extensively speaking on the benefits of Free and open source Software and promoting LPI as a vendor-neutral, world-wide certification program that utilizes published objectives rather than requiring a course.

Evan Leibovitch and C. “Scudder” Mead, both founding members of LPI, lend years of experience in the open source Software community and also in LPI certification programs.
