LPI Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Special Offers

Toronto, 10-25-2024 — Linux Professional Institute (LPI) is thrilled to announce its 25th anniversary! Since its inception on October 25, 1999, LPI has empowered open source professionals worldwide. To commemorate this milestone, LPI is giving back to the community that has supported it throughout the years with two special offers: free exam vouchers for every 25th candidate who takes an LPI exam and a 25 percent discount on Linux Essentials.

“We’ve created these offers as a gesture of appreciation to thank our community for their continued support over the years,” says LPI’s Executive Director G. Matthew Rice. Marketing Manager Björn Schönewald describes how the first of the two offers work: “Every 25th candidate who takes an LPI exam by December 31, 2024 will receive a free voucher for their next exam. Recipients will be determined at the end of every month by selecting every 25th candidate based on the date and time they wrote their exam.”

In addition, LPI is celebrating its birthday with a « Switch to Linux » campaign, offering a 25 percent discount on Linux Essentials exams to anyone who switches from a proprietary operating system to GNU/Linux by the end of the year. Everyone who posts a photo of their running Linux device on social media as described on lpi.org/lpi25 will receive a 25 percent coupon code added to their LPI account.

Both initiatives are aimed at encouraging more individuals to embrace open source and celebrate the 25th year milestone with LPI. G. Matthew Rice: “Our mission is to promote the use of open source by supporting the people who work with it. The more people who work with open source, the more we can support – that’s what our anniversary offers are for. And there will be more offers, for which we will contact our certification holders by email. »
